ProPublica
An article layout framework for a nonprofit newsroom
Graphic design, UX, web development
ProPublica is a nonprofit investigative newsroom that exposes abuses of power. I worked there for six years, designing custom layouts for feature stories and tending to the more template-oriented work of the overall site design. When we decided to vastly expand the visual capabilities of our standard article template, I designed and built a robust framework offering fine-tuned control over responsive layout. The majority of ProPublica articles—including multiple Pulitzer Prize winners—now make use of this framework’s wide range of possibilities.
